The History
The 5Star Life Insurance Company was founded in 1996 as the Armed Forces Benefit Association’s (AFBA) principal underwriter for insurance products. The AFBA was organized in 1947 with the support of General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower. At that time, service members could not purchase life insurance that would pay a benefit in the case of death in a war zone.

5Star Life Insurance Company has afforded the AFBA with the ability to continue to stand by our country’s armed forces, providing superior benefits and services principally to military families during peace and war. 5STAR has since successfully expanded into employer groups and worksite benefits markets.
